Today is supposed to be a scorcher! It's already 70 degrees outside and it's only 10:00 am. It is supposed to get up into the mid-90's. But, this rare heatwave got me thinking about how thankful I am to be living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! As you may or may not know, I grew up on the gorgeous island of Kauai in Hawaii. You can't really compare Hawaii to anything else because it is really in a league of it's own. But, they had a saying there, "Lucky we live Hawaii".

...and it really made me think that I am so happy to be living in Seattle. The weather is pretty mild {although if there is a 1 inch of snow on the ground, I am pretty terrified to drive but that's pretty standard}. On the East Coast it is like 90-100 degrees all summer {or that's what it seems like to an outsider}. I really like being close to the water and mountains and all that good stuff. Yeah, it does rain occasionally a lot, but it hasn't rained in almost a month and I think when it's out of sight, it's out of mind... so I am not complaining. August is usually the best {read: warmest} month of the year. So, I am enjoying it while it lasts! I guess the point I am making is that Washington is really pretty too. It's no Hawaii, but it is pretty nice.
