Quick Trip: Boston

I had the opportunity to travel to Boston earlier this Spring for a work conference. It was my first time in the beautiful, historic city and I must say that it did not disappoint. I had a free afternoon the day before the conference began and I explored Newbury Street which was within walking distance of my hotel in Back Bay.

I walked through Boston Commons and a beautiful garden on my way to Newbury Street.

I had my first Georgetown Cupcake. The verdict: good, but very spongey. Made me miss Trophy Cupcake back in Seattle.

I also went into this Warby Parker location on a whim and ended up ordering new glasses. It was so fun to be in the store and try on any frames instead of doing the at home experience. I was just listening to NPR the other day and they were talking about "pop up" shops and they spoke with someone from Warby Parker who was saying they never thought they would have a brick and mortar store when they first created the website, but that customers loved to stop by the store in person to see all the choices at once.  Sometimes it's hard to narrow down only 6 pairs of glasses to try on. You really need to try on glasses in person to see what they will look like on you. I ended up ordering Fitz in Tortoise. I had been wanting a pair of glasses in tortoise so that was a fun impromptu adventure.

I really want to go back to Boston sometime soon and I think I'll take Jake with me next time.

xoxo,
Kim
